Born in 1927, Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger was elected Pope on April 19, 2005. At age 14, he was forced to join the Hitler Youth and later, drafted into the army. Shortly afterwards, he went AWOL and was briefly held in an Allied POW camp. At war's end, he immediately entered a Catholic Seminary. And he's the first Pope to own an iPod.
